Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do you guarantee colour?

If your job is colour critical, YOU MUST REQUEST A COLOR PROOF at the time your order is placed. If a colour proof is not ordered, we are not responsible for any colour variations between your computer monitor and any of your flyers or other printed materials. If you would like to achieve a perfect colour, it can only be done with a colour proof.

Event Print accepts no responsibility for colour variations between your submitted print files and the final printed piece.

Explain the difference between glossy and matt paper stock

Coated papers are available in two finishes – glossy (shiny and smooth) and matt (flat and lusterless). Coated glossy papers reflect the light evenly so they are suitable for almost all types of printing jobs. Glossy papers have a good ink holdout, which is important for creating sharp, bright images.

What is the resolution of output file?

300 dpi (dots per inch) is the resolution of the output PDF file.

What printing method do you use?

We use offset printing, which provides the highest quality of print material for both text and images.

Are the prices listed on the site final? How do I know the total cost?

No, the price list indicates the basic prices of products against speculative quantities. The prices are calculated with regard to the most basic paper/card types, sizes and single side printing. The final printing cost depends on many parameters: paper/card weights or thickness (GSM/Pt), glossy or matte finish, 2 or 4 colours, square or rounded corners, single or double sided printing, quantity, destination shipping charges and the mode of transport.

Please use the indicative prices for calculating the basic cost. Once you place the order using the above parameters, we will quickly mail you the final, exact cost.

What is CMYK?

CMYK stands for Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), Yellow and Key (black). It is the colour system used in printing and it involves mixing various percentages of these colours together in a dot, to produce the colours in an image.

What is print resolution?

Resolution is the term used to describe the number of dots or pixels used to display an image. When printing, a resolution of 300DPI (dots per inch) is needed to produce a crisp, clean image that can be blown up without comprising the quality.

What are bleeds?

A bleed is used when the image needs to go all the way to the edge of the page. Printers have a maximum printable area that is slightly smaller than the paper size. Therefore, the image should extend 3mm over the finished size. When the paper is cut after printing, any white borders are eliminated.

What are crop marks?

Crop marks are the crossed lines printed on the corners of a page to define exactly where the print artwork is to be cut to size after printing.

What files and information do I need to supply for your design services?

A thorough brief is essential to any design work and the better the brief, the more closely the end product will match your requirements. We will discuss your particular requirements and make sure that we obtain all the necessary details, but in general, you will need to supply an idea/concept, the content you want to be included, any images you want included, your budget and your time constraint. Where possible, it is also helpful to include examples of similar styles that you like.

How quickly can I have my printing?

We pride ourselves in a highly efficient service and will have most print jobs dispatched for delivery within 5 to 7 working days. If you are in a hurry, contact us to discuss our priority printing services.

For pre-print design services, an estimated time frame will be given on a case-by-case basis, depending on the degree of assistance required.
